AN OVERVIEW OF SCF ANNUAL REPORT 2017

 A road to cycling development is provided by the Sustainable Cycling Foundation. This pipeline includes regional and national talent identification camps, instructional clinics, international programming, direct athlete financing efforts, and access to world-class equipment, facilities, and coaching. SCF also strives to expand the sport by providing instruction and structure, working with qualified coaches and officials, overseeing regional and national championship tournaments for all ages and ability levels, and administering eight national level calendars.

 

Notion Of SCF

'Every child is a champion who deserves the opportunity to play. We believe in delivering excellent instruction in a setting where the kid is prioritized. We think that athletics should be difficult and progressive for children, but never at the price of their self-esteem. We think that cycling has the power to change people's lives. We work hard to foster a healthy youth sports culture, one that allows young people to enjoy all of the benefits that sports have to offer. We think that sports are important for children's complete development, both physically and mentally. SCF maintains a grassroots development pipeline for men and women in order to expand the sport on a national level.'

 

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The team is made up of corporate executives who are enthusiastic about cycling and grassroots sports development, and who view cycling as a way to help young people grow.

 

Faiz Imam: Trustee Faiz Imam is a corporate leader with more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector. His profile is highlighted with the following aspects-

●      Expertise in technical, commercial, strategy, growth, and new company development.

●      He has worldwide industry expertise, having worked in numerous positions and capacities for international businesses and independents in Africa, Europe, and the United States.

●      Managing Director of the Monument Group, a Nigerian conglomerate with holdings in energy, real estate, and communications.

 

Niji Adelagun: Trustee Niji Adelagun's profile is highlighted with the following aspects. Check out-

●      He is the founder of IQ Systems Solution Limited, a technology company, and Prosper Gardens Limited, a real estate company.

●      Niji selected the entrepreneurial road to show his great interest in technology as a lawyer with a PGD in Business Management.

●      The potential in growing cycling as a sport and the development of skills have inspired his ambition to leave a difference in the sport.

●      He is in not-for-profit involvement through this Foundation, as an avid rider.

 

Iboroma Akpana: Trustee Mr. Akpana is a Partner with Solola & Akpana, one of Nigeria's premier commercial law companies. His profile is highlighted with the following aspects-

●      With a career spanning more than two decades, he is a skilled business and commercial lawyer.

●      Mr. Akpana has a long history of academic and professional achievement.

●      He earned a master's degree in law from Harvard Law School after graduating as a top student in law at the University of Jos.

●      In Nigeria, England and Wales, and New York, he is licenced to practise law.

 

Mr. Adeleke Adeniyi: Trustee Adeleke Adeniyi is a seasoned entrepreneur and the profile is highlighted with the following aspects-

●      He holds a bachelor's degree in Corporate Finance and Accounting (Summa Cum Laude) and an MBA in Corporate Finance from the University of Rochester's Simon School of Business Administration.

●      He worked for JPMorgan Chase as an investment banker in New York, Hong Kong, and San Francisco.

●      In 2002, he became a Vice President in the bank's Media, Telecom, and Technology Investment Banking group

The First Professional Cycling Team Of Nigeria Will Compete In The World Championships Under The Sponsorship Of Access Bank & Cocoon Bank

Team Access-Cocoon, Nigeria's first professional cycling team, is working around the clock to ensure the club is ready to compete in the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Continental Circuit in 2020, according to its promoters. This year, the squad will compete as an elite team before registering with the UCI for the 2020 season. According to the team's promoters, the team is the product of several years of investment, training, and collaboration with a variety of local and international businesses and people, including Velocare, Eterna-Castrol and Craneburg Construction as sponsors. This Sunday Will Telecast The Live Presentation Of The Lagos Bicycle Competition

  The Lagos State Sports Commission, on behalf of the Lagos State government, is supporting the competition. The event will be held on Ikoyi’s Dolphin Estate loop. Andrea Tonti, an ex-Tour de France rider, was a special guest at last year’s event. Teams will compete in six categories: professional male/female, masters male/female, and junior male/female. The mission of the Cycology Riding Club is to encourage grassroots cycling while promoting a healthy lifestyle. The criterium’s goal, according to SCF, is to promote cycling as a sport and a recreational activity among Nigerians. One of the aims is to grow cycling to the same level as football in Nigeria, as said by SCF chairman  Faiz Imam .
