Abaka, Odom win 2018 Lagos City Criterium

  At the event where about 250 cyclists competed and over N2m was given as cash prize among other gift items like phones, Tunde Afolabi and Mercia Kamara won the male and female Masters’ class, while Joseph Ibaku and Elizabeth Obene clinched the junior category. Odom, who thanked the   o rganisers of the competition, said she was happy for her feat despite placing fourth in the last year edition. She added that her next target was to win gold medal at the National Sports Festival. Cocoon Homes receives senate committee on housing to inspect ongoing projects

  Nigeria’s innovative real estate company,   Cocoon Homes , received delegates from the Senate Committee on Housing who were on tour to inspect some of the ongoing projects funded by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria. The inspection was led by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Housing, Senator Sam Egwu, who commended the ongoing construction at Cocoon Atlantic Project. NELSON WINS LAGOS CITY CRITERIUM

  Determined Bassey Nelson proved pundit right as he dominated from start to finish to claim N200,000 star prize at the Lagos City Criterium 2017. Nelson who races for the Sharks Racing Club from Port Harcourt was ahead of Sadiq Ajibade and Precious Godwin of United Pro Team and Cyclotron team respectively. “I’ve been working hard for this and as Nigerian champion I came into this knowing there’s a chance I was going to win this,” said a confident Nelson to pressmen after the race last Saturday. Nelson continued: “I’ve still got two competitions to compete in before the end of the year and I’m going to keep working hard to finish the season very strong.” In the women’s professional race, Ese Ukpeseraye of the Cyclotron team finished first with Tombrakpa Grikpa and Joan Okoro finished in second and third respectively. The First Professional Cycling Team Of Nigeria Will Compete In The World Championships Under The Sponsorship Of Access Bank & Cocoon Bank

Team Access-Cocoon, Nigeria's first professional cycling team, is working around the clock to ensure the club is ready to compete in the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Continental Circuit in 2020, according to its promoters. This year, the squad will compete as an elite team before registering with the UCI for the 2020 season. According to the team's promoters, the team is the product of several years of investment, training, and collaboration with a variety of local and international businesses and people, including Velocare, Eterna-Castrol and Craneburg Construction as sponsors. The Sustainable Cycling Foundation (SCF) and Cycology Riding Club (Cycology) are promoting Team Access Cocoon as part of their continuing grassroots cycling development in Nigeria.
