Bassey Nelson Won The Star Prize Of N200,000 In The Lagos City Criterium

Prize money totalled over N1.5 million, and plans are already in the works to bring the Criterium to other regions of Nigeria in the near future. Bassey Nelson, who dominated from start to finish to win the N200,000 star award at the Lagos City Criterium 2017, proved pundits wrong. Ese Ukpeseraye of the Cyclotron team won the women’ s  professional race, with Tombrakpa Grikpa and Joan Okoro coming in second and third, respectively. The level of competition pleased SCF chairman   Faiz Imam , who said, ‘ Our goals are to make sure these youngsters are exposed to additional events. ’ We are pleased with their work here and will continue to support them in achieving their goals. Monument Group among top Nigerian companies at Dubai 2020 Expo

This Sunday Will Telecast The Live Presentation Of The Lagos Bicycle Competition

  The Lagos State Sports Commission, on behalf of the Lagos State government, is supporting the competition. The event will be held on Ikoyi’s Dolphin Estate loop. Andrea Tonti, an ex-Tour de France rider, was a special guest at last year’s event. Teams will compete in six categories: professional male/female, masters male/female, and junior male/female. The mission of the Cycology Riding Club is to encourage grassroots cycling while promoting a healthy lifestyle. The criterium’s goal, according to SCF, is to promote cycling as a sport and a recreational activity among Nigerians. One of the aims is to grow cycling to the same level as football in Nigeria, as said by SCF chairman  Faiz Imam . Access Bank, Cocoon Homes back Nigeria’s first professional cycling squad for world championship

  Promoters of Team Access-Cocoon, Nigeria’s first professional cycling team say they are working round the clock to ensure the club is ready to participate in the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Continental Circuit in 2020. Team Access Cocoon is being promoted by the Sustainable Cycling Foundation (SCF) and Cycology Riding Club (Cycology), as part of their ongoing grassroots development of cycling in Nigeria. It will race as an elite team this year prior to registration with the world cycling body, UCI for the 2020 season.   According to the promoters of the side, which derives its name from a combination of Access Bank and Cocoon Homes, its main sponsors, the team is a result of several years of investment, training and collaboration with a number of groups and individuals, both local and international, including Craneburg Construction, Eterna-Castrol and Velocare as sponsors.    It hopes to join other African countries, which now boast continental cycling teams such as Team Dime
